Community Rest is a shared group experience created for people navigating displacement, loss and uncertainty following the fires.
Guests settle into comfortable floor stations with mats, blankets and bolsters while a sound bath fills the room. Our massage therapists move quietly through the space offering intermittent massage and supportive touch.
This is not a traditional massage appointment. It is a slow, shared space to rest, listen, receive supportive touch if you choose and have some time where nothing is being asked of you.
What to expect
A calm, supported group experience
The room will stay quiet and unhurried. There is no performance, achievement or pressure to participate in every part.
Settle in
Choose a comfortable floor station with a mat, blanket and bolster. You will have time to arrive, get situated and make yourself comfortable.
Rest with the sound bath
Settle in while the sound bath fills the room. There is nothing you need to follow, learn or do.
Receive supportive touch
Massage therapists will move throughout the room offering short periods of massage, gentle compression and supportive touch.
Rest between moments of touch
Therapists may offer head, neck, shoulder, hand or foot massage. Touch is intermittent, and every part of the experience is optional.
Space is limited
Community Rest is intentionally kept small so the room can stay calm, comfortable and unrushed.

Community Rest is intended for people experiencing displacement, evacuation, loss of a home or belongings, significant disruption or ongoing stress connected to the fires.
You do not need to prove that your experience was difficult enough to deserve care.
Floor access and comfort
This experience takes place primarily on padded floor stations.
Please contact us before reserving if getting down to or up from the floor may be difficult. We will help you determine whether the experience can be comfortably adapted.
You may also tell us about injuries, sensitivities, mobility needs or areas where you do not want to receive touch.

Before you attend
Is this a traditional massage appointment?
No. Community Rest is a shared group experience. Massage therapists move throughout the room, so touch will be offered intermittently rather than continuously.
What will we be doing?
This is a sound bath with supportive touch, not a movement class. There is nothing you need to know or do. Simply come as you are and rest.
What should I wear?
Come exactly as you are. If you have comfortable clothing, that's wonderful. If not, please don't worry. Whatever you're wearing is perfectly okay. Guests remain fully clothed throughout the session.
Do I have to receive massage?
No. All touch is optional. You may decline touch completely or choose which areas you are comfortable having massaged.
Will I need to talk about what happened?
No. This is a place to receive care without needing to share your story or explain your circumstances to the group.
Is this mental health or medical treatment?
No. Community Rest is a sound bath and rest experience with optional massage and supportive touch. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment or emergency support.
